Sean Karye

CEO, Chief Investment Officer

Sean is the Founder, CEO, and Chief Investment Officer of Blackpool. Having spent nearly his entire career in corporate carve-out and special situations private equity. He has executed often complex both buy and sell side transactions across a variety of industries including manufacturing, services, education, and technology/telecom. Prior to starting Blackpool Companies, he spent several years as a Director at Skyview Capital, an LA-based international private equity investor. While there, he was responsible for all aspects of the investment process and portfolio development.

Michael Groebner

COO, President

Michael serves as Partner, COO, and President of Blackpool. He is responsible for all aspects of portfolio integration and management, value creation, and an integral part of the transaction process as an Investment Committee member. He is an accomplished PE Operator and industrial executive with more than two decades of experience building, separating, and transforming manufacturing, services, and technology businesses globally. He has held multiple Operating Partner, COO, CTO and Managing Director roles and has extensive experience across operational due diligence, corporate carve- outs, standalone establishment, value creation and platform building. Michael’s platform experience includes supporting Elster’s transformation and expansion through technology acquisitions ahead of its sale to Honeywell. He joins us from Aurelius, where he supported and delivered various carve outs and platform creations in the US and Europe.

Matt Morris

Matt Morris is a board member and investor at Blackpool Companies and the founder of Hampton River Partners. He specializes in backing serial acquirers and long-term ownership platforms, drawing on extensive experience across public equity investing, investment management, and patient-capital strategies.

Gustaf Håkansson

Gustaf Håkansson is a Partner at Hampton River Partners and serves as a board member and investor at Blackpool Companies. He brings unique, strategic expertise on serial-acquisition and permanent holding investment vehicles. Having been an accomplished private investor and operator of Acquirers.com and Cubera Private Equity, along with an M&A advisor at Houlihan Lokey.
